Another Fan Post
As I continue to ponder this idea of being fans my thoughts went to the crazy Hawkeye fans who yell at their TV’s when their offense struggles to move the ball. I often hear them asking the question “Why do we keep trying to…(whatever the play is that they run three consecutive times for a loss of two yards)” After asking the question they are more than willing to make a suggestion as to what they should be doing with the play calling.
Hopefully you understand that kind of fan I’m trying to describe.
Now here is my point with this fan. They don’t have all the information. They may know every players name, every coaches name, and how many days it is until opening kickoff. They may know some recruits that may sign, the latest injury report, and where the QB is from. But they don’t know the game plan. They don’t know what the coach is thinking. They won’t want to admit this but they are missing some information. (Side note – the fan still might be right but it doesn’t matter)
I think this is true with us and our friends sometimes. We start criticizing the ones we love. We question their decision making. We second guess their motives. Yet in doing all of this we might not have all of the information. We might not know what took place prior. We might not be aware of a lot of things. (Side note – the fan still might be right)
37 days until kickoff Marty…
