Day 62: Hebrews 1-3
If you have stuck with the reading plan can I just say way to go! We are starting our 10th book of the year today.
- The writer says that in the old days God spoke through prophets but now he speaks through His son. I then ask the question is the last days the days of the writing or are the days we still live in? The answer really doesn’t matter because the Spirit of Jesus is still speaking.
- I’m grateful for 1:14 in light of my upcoming trip. “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation.”
- We need to be careful to not drift away. The passage indicates that this is easy to do. I know it is for me when I’m not on top of my priorities.
- We are being made holy – 2:11 but often refer to ourselves as sinners.
- The theme of the Bible is setting people free. 2:15
- When I look at thebridge and what has happened in the past three years I just laugh. It is really easy for me to see that God is the builder of everything. 3:4
- There is a strong warning throughout the rest of chapter 3 to not harden your hearts. This means it is possible to harden your hearts. I believe we aren’t even aware of it when we are doing it thus we need to schedule in times of checking our hearts. Is my heart hard? Would I let God correct something in my life? Make a radical change? Stand up to family or friends even when it is difficult because it is what God has called me to?
Trying to work on a plan to post from afar. We’ll see.
