Sunday Night Recap
The weekend may have done me in. I feel like a QB who just got blitzed and didn’t see it coming.
- It was cold!
- Set up this morning went well. I moved the big white screen in the theater and while changing some of the weights I about killed myself. I’m serious – I lost my balance and almost went over the edge. I think that would have been a downer.
- Chris and Sara were missed. We did survive without them but lets just say we noticed.
- Worship team continues to sound awesome.
- Baptism Sundays bring out the people. Largest attendance outside of Easter.
- Lowest offering of the fiscal year. Maybe less is better?
- Brandon did an awesome job. Loved the Braveheart breakdown that led to the statement I don’t want to be on the wrong side.
- Great conversations before and after. I love getting a chance to pray for people.
- Talked to a guy who is currently living with a friend while his son lives with a grandma and his wife lives with another friend.
- Had two other conversations about struggling marriages. As a church we must fight with prayer!
- Four more baptisms after the service. Loved hearing John’s testimony in the locker room. He couldn’t contain himself. Loved celebrating with Sonya, Kobe, and Tara as well.
- Had growth group leaders and a few others over to our house for lunch. I love opening our home up and watching people connect and share life.
- Ted has a cool phone!
- Went to Dudes tonight and brought Toby. We played some indoor golf on video simulator. Pretty sweet stuff.
- House is put back together but we can’t find Toby’s Tiger.
- Going to get some reading in before I go to bed.
Regarding struggling marriages; awhile back I mentioned a marriage seminar that Mike and I attended in Tampa, FL. It was Dave Clarke. I had read the book, “A Marriage After God’s Own Heart” and loved it. We decided one cold February to get the heck out of here and headed for Tampa to one of his seminars. It was well worth it!
Check out his website at davidclarkeseminars.com. He does travel to do seminars. I’m not sure of the cost but maybe it’s something we could consider. He presents with a considerable amount of humor.
